AI930S 3KDE175511L9300 ABB HART Analog Input Module For S900 Remote I/O System
Description:
The AI930S 3KDE175511L9300 is an analog input module of the ABB S900 remote I/O system. Its function is to convert the 4-20mA current signal sent by the two-wire transducer on site into a digital signal that the control system can handle.
The AI930S 3KDE175511L9300 provides 4 independent input channels, each of which comes with 24V loop power supply. It can directly supply power to the transducer without the need for an additional power supply. It is suitable for corrosive environments such as coastal, chemical, and dust conditions.

Product advantages:
The most significant feature of AI930S 3KDE175511L9300 is its explosion-proof capability. The S900 I/O system can be directly installed in hazardous areas. For industries with high explosion-proof requirements such as petrochemicals, natural gas, and chemicals, placing the I/O cabinet directly at the site can significantly reduce wiring costs.
The HART communication capability is another major advantage. Ordinary analog input modules can only read current values. The AI930S can read diagnostic status, temperature compensation values, range settings, and other auxiliary information from the transmitter through the HART protocol.
Maintenance is convenient. The module supports hot swapping, allowing for replacement without power interruption to the system. A single-channel failure does not require the entire rack to be shut down. Each channel has an independent LED status indicator. Open circuits and short circuits can be automatically detected and reported to the DCS.
Operating Instructions
Installation and explosion-proof requirements: The AI930S must be installed on the Type S (blue) base of the S900 system and cannot be used in combination with the Type N base of the ordinary safety zone. When performing hot-swapping operations in Zone 1 hazardous area, the on-site explosion-proof safety regulations must still be followed.
Wiring and shielding: The 4-20mA signal line uses a twisted shielded cable, with the shield layer grounded at one end to avoid measurement deviation caused by grounding loops. At the field instrument end, it is necessary to confirm that the transmitter is of the two-wire loop power supply type, and the module comes with 24V power supply. When wiring, pay attention to distinguish between the power supply and signal circuits.
Configuration and debugging: When configuring in ABB 800xA or Control Builder, enable HART communication for each channel and configure the auxiliary variables that need to be read. After powering on, check the status lights of the channels. If a certain channel reports a broken wire or short circuit fault, first check the on-site transmitter and lines, and then consider the problem of the module itself. Many "module failures" are actually problems with loose wiring or the instrument.
